Fran’s Biography

Thru Irish Eyes is the idea of photographer Fran Stone. It is a site of affordable images of Ireland, incorporating the beautiful scenery, flowers, fauna, wildlife and historical sites which are plentiful throughout the country. Having loved photography all of her life, Fran decided to make available the very best of her considerable collection. Her aim is to allow everyone to be a part of her priviledged life and see the wonders of the Emerald Isle through her eyes.
Fran lives on a small farm in the townland of Mount Russell, in the truly unspoilt Ballyhoura Mountains which run through the counties of Cork and Limerick. Much of the inspiration for her photography comes from the antics of her varied animal family and the stunning setting in which they all reside!
Fran is a chiropractor for horses and people and has been practicing for over 30 years. She also produces young horses for various disciplines and has been steeped in animal husbandry, nature and agriculture since she was born!
Having produced a calendar of her photography for family and friends for the last few years, Fran decided to allow a larger audience to enjoy the wonderful  scenes, which she captures on a daily basis with her ever-present camera!

Among Fran’s creative talents is making unique greetings cards, using completely natural materials sourced from her surroundings. The cards are made using recycled card and envelopes and are decorated with wool from her sheep, feathers from her poultry and dried wild flowers! Inside each card is a gift of seeds for the recipient to plant! Check out the cards under the handmade cards tab!

Drawing inspiration from her beautiful surroundings and life experiences, Fran also writes songs and poems.
